Tourism students from Nam Can Tho University (DNC) participate

“Marriott International Vietnam Career Week 2023”

As part of the series of events "Marriott International Vietnam Career Week 2023", tourism students from Nam Can Tho University (DNC) together with students from universities and colleges with tourism training in the Can Tho City is the School of Economics - Can Tho University, Tay Do University, FPT University, FPT College and Can Tho College of Tourism that participated in the activities in the series of events at the Sheraton Can Tho belongs to Marriott International Vietnam. This is an opportunity for students to learn about career opportunities at Marriott International as well as exchange and connect with industry experts.

On the morning of April 19, 2023, at the Sheraton Can Tho Hotel, leaders of DNC together with leaders of tourism training schools in Can Tho City signed MOU with Marriott International Vietnam to support training activities and provide highly qualified tourism and hospitality human resources.

Attending the signing ceremony, on DNC's side, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Duy Huan - Vice President, Dr. Nguyen Thi My Linh - Deputy Head of Scientific Research and International Cooperation Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Ngoc Canh - Dean of Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management along with the lecturers and 50 students of the Faculty. On the side of Marriott International Vietnam, there were Mr. Markus Jacobus Johnnes Van Der Weilen - Chairman of Marriott International and leaders of Sheraton Hotel Can Tho.

According to the signed content, Marriott International Vietnam will create conditions for students to have the opportunity to participate in sightseeing, study, practical and internship activities at hotels; coordinate in training students majoring in hotel tourism; at the same time, coordinate in organizing activities: consulting on training program development, career guidance, career orientation for students, job counseling, experience sharing when participating in interviews, recruitment, completion improve job applications, organize seminars on the tourism and hospitality industry, etc.

At the ceremony, Mr. Markus Jacobus Johnnes Van Der Weilen - President of Marriott International gave a speech to welcome teachers, lecturers and students to participate in the program. He shared his story when choosing the hotel industry and emphasized his passion if he decided to pursue this service industry.

Experts shared about the future trends in Hospitality

At the event, students heard experts from Marriott International hotels share their success stories and journey to Marriott. Experts also give advice to students who need to practice skills and improve themselves to seize career opportunities at an international hotel group.
