THE FACULTY OF LAW - NAM CAN THO UNIVERSITY HELD THE 2ND MOCK TRIAL

In order to celebrate Vietnam Law Day on November 9, on the morning of November 8, 2019, the Faculty of Law – Nam Can Tho University held the 2nd mock trial of 2019 at Hall D. This is considered one of the annual activities of the Faculty of Law, is a useful playground, an indispensable element in the study and research activities of Law students.

 Attending the program were Judge Van Hung - People's Court of Ninh Kieu District, Procurator Nguyen Thien Thanh - Military Procuracy of Military Zone IV, and Lawyer Nguyen Viet Chung - Tay Do Law Office. On the side of Nam Can Tho University, there was the attendance of Dr. Nguyen Van Quang - Vice Rector of the University, MSc. Nguyen Chi Dung - Vice Dean of Law Faculty, Dr. Nguyen Thi Cam Hong - Lecturer of Law Faculty. A large number of students from the Faculty of Law and other faculties were also interested and attended the program. 

This year's mock trial was a criminal investigation and handling case related to the act of "murder" specified in Article 123 of the Penal Code 2015. The case has many interesting details and reasons for this. The ability to be sensitive to the defense reported by the lawyer as well as the strong incriminating arguments from the prosecutor's office contributed to the reproduction of the most honest version. 

The mock trial at Nam Can Tho University fully reproduces the order, procedures, and participants in a trial according to the provisions of the current Criminal Procedure Code with the impeachment, trial, Litigation and deliberation help students have a new perspective in their research instead of just implicitly studying the issue through books, newspapers, and research papers. Not simply a pure playground, the mock trial also ended the movie that law students hone their professional knowledge and skills to meet social needs.

In addition to the thrilling scenes and issues of the mock trial, there is also an exchange and answer questions about interesting legal knowledge with many attractive gifts for the organizers to prepare. This part of the exchange made the atmosphere of the conference hall lively. Surely the students were very excited to participate.

Mock trial creation session is also an opportunity for students to improve their self-study spirit, practice their critical thinking ability, help students get acquainted with the legal environment, and at the same time, it is also one of the so that students can orient their future careers
