PRACTICE LABORATORIES CENTER

1. INTRODUCTION

Based on Decision No. 34/QĐ-CTHĐT-ĐHNCT issued on May 5th, 2020, the Practice Laboratories Center is established under the direction and management of Nam Can Tho University, located at 168 Nguyen Van Cu (extension), An Binh Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City, Vietnam. 2. FUNCTIONS AND TASKS

- Currently, the Center manages 30 laboratories and practical rooms located in areas A, B, and E at Nam Can Tho University.

- The Practice Laboratories Center has the function of supporting and assisting the University in organizing, implementing, and managing laboratory activities and practices in laboratory rooms, workshops, internships, serving training, scientific research, and transferring science and technology of the University.

- With the task of coordinating with specialized faculties, the Practice Laboratories Center, and functional units to plan the academic year and laboratory schedule for each semester and academic year, organizing, implementing, and monitoring laboratory activities to serve training, scientific research, and transferring technology of the University, managing assets, and maintaining equipment, machines, tools, materials, chemicals, specimens, documents, and the process of using assets in laboratory rooms assigned by the University. The Center also takes the lead in coordinating with training faculties and functional departments to plan the purchase, supplement, and repair of machines, equipment, tools, materials, chemicals, specimens, etc. for laboratory practice, preparing reports on the results of using equipment, tools, materials, chemicals, specimens based on economic and technical norms for laboratory practice after each semester, participating in and coordinating the adjustment of economic and technical norms, and performing other tasks assigned by the University.

- Organize experimental practice classes according to the schedule of the Training Department.

- Support lecturers, staff, and students in scientific research at the university

- Regularly organize training courses and improve professional qualifications for the Center's specialists.

5. ACHIEVEMENTS

After 02 years of operation, the Practice Laboratories Center has achieved achievements such as Advanced labor collective in the school year 2020-2021; 02 titles of junior emulation soldiers in the school year 2020-2021, and individuals who won the title of advanced labor in the school year 2020-2021; 01 individual was awarded a certificate of merit by the Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee for excellent completion of tasks for the school year 2019-2020 and the school year 2020-2021.

6. ORIENTATION FOR DEVELOPMENT

- The establishment of the DNC Health Science Research and Training Institute in the coming time aims at the construction goal of Nam Can Tho University. This also marks the development orientation of the Practice Laboratories Center, laboratory planning in the direction of focusing on equipment, and renovating the management mechanism to bring into full play the highest efficiency by regulations of the Ministry of Education.

- Strive annually to achieve the title of excellent labor collective, with 50% of individuals attending the title of grassroots emulation soldier.
