Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Chairman of the Council of Nam Can Tho University, said: Continuing to promote the results achieved during the ten-year journey of construction and development, Nam Can Tho University identified five key tasks for the coming time. It focuses on building and perfecting the industry structure and training programs, innovating teaching methods and training management to achieve standardization, modernization, and international integration. It especially emphasizes enhancing the effectiveness of cooperation with international partners, striving to bring 30% of textbooks and lectures to be taught in English for some training majors. It also promotes scientific research among both lecturers and students, deploying and improving the quality of scientific research linked to practice. Additionally, it trains to improve the qualifications of officials, lecturers, and staff to meet the trend of teaching towards a modern approach.

In the 2023-2024 school year, the university awarded approximately VND 12,600,000,000 in scholarships to reward students with excellent training and high admission scores in the 2023 admission period. Additionally, the university also spent more than VND 1,000,000,000 to reward students with excellent academic results and difficult circumstances.

On this occasion, Nam Can Tho University also received scholarship funding for students with excellent academic achievements and in difficult circumstances from partner agencies and businesses that have been cooperating with the university over the past time, totaling approximately VND 200,000,000.

The university's 2023 enrollment results have recruited more than 6,000 students. To date, the university's total student population has reached more than 23,500 students, which is an encouraging and proud achievement. Furthermore, the university has been granted permission by the Ministry of Education and Training to offer two new majors: Dentomaxillofacial and Preventive Medicine.
