Nam Can Tho University promotes links with international partners

(KTSG Online) – Currently, Nam Can Tho University is promoting links with a number of partners in the US, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Korea, and the Philippines. The university is also building and developing the "enterprises in universities " model, aiming to train resources to meet the needs of socio-economic development in the Mekong Delta.

This morning (October 28), Nam Can Tho University awarded diplomas to more than 2,600 new engineers, bachelors, pharmacists, and architects in 21 majors. After more than 10 years of construction, over 90% of the graduates had secured employment, contributing socio-economic resources to the Mekong Delta region.

At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Van Quang, Rector of Nam Can Tho University, said that to better meet human resource needs in the current context, Nam Can Tho University is promoting links with a number of partners in the US, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Korea, and the Philippines. In doing so, the university has organized bilateral and multilateral cooperation activities in many fields, such as exchanging scientific documents, facilitating exchanges between lecturers and students, organizing short-term courses, and international conferences, and coordinating to implement common research topics.

For example, Nam Can Tho University enrolled students in business administration training for five courses under a joint program with the Malaysian University of Science and Technology (MUST). Additionally, they developed the "enterprises in universities” model through the establishment of businesses such as Nam Mien Nam Group, Nam Can Tho University Medical Center, DNC One-member Trading Company, Research and Development Institute of Medicinal Plants, DNC Software Development and Application Center, and DNC Health Sciences Research and Training Institute.

The next time, Nam Can Tho University will choose to use a number of training programs being taught abroad that are suitable for Vietnam's development needs; set a goal of reaching 30% of textbooks and lectures in English for a number of training majors, Rector Nguyen Van Quang shared.

Nam Can Tho University has been granted a certificate of educational quality accreditation for eleven undergraduate training programs and one master's training program in the fields of pharmacy, law, economic law, business administration, construction engineering, automotive engineering technology, information technology, travel and tourism service management, food technology, medical imaging technology, and testing technology, etc. The university has also been certified by the Innovation Institute with a four-star UPM in the education sector.
