Miss Nam Can Tho University’s contestant confidently shone at
the Semi-final Round
On April 11, Mr. Nguyen Nhat Truong (MSc), Director of the Student Support and Business Cooperation Center and Secretary of the Youth Union at Nam Can Tho University, announced the successful completion of the Semi-final Round of the 9th Miss Nam Can Tho University 2024 Contest (Miss DNC 2024). A total of 33 contestants participated in the event.
The Nam Can Tho University organized a contest to commemorate the 93rd anniversary of the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024) and other significant holidays in the country. A total of 186 candidates participated in the
contest, which consisted of a preliminary round with sections such as a knowledge test, anthropometric measurement, and a school costume demonstration. From these rounds, the Organizing Committee selected 33 contestants to advance to the Semi-final Round.

This competition aims to foster and promote the role and talent of students in Literature, Sports, and Fine Arts activities, honoring the physical beauty, intelligence, and style of dynamic, modern, and youthful students while still maintaining the traditional elegance, grace, and kindness of Vietnamese women.
The judges for the Semi-final Round were Mr. Nguyen Tri Dat, a member of the University Council; Miss Thach Thu Thao, who was crowned Miss DNC 2021, was the 2nd runner-up for Miss Ethnic Vietnam 2022, and was in the Top 20 contestant for Miss Earth 2022; Miss Le Thi Tuong Vy, who was crowned Miss DNC 2020, Miss Student Vietnam, and Miss Áo dài, and was in the Top 10 for Miss Vietnam 2020; Miss Duong Huyen Chan, who was crowned Miss DNC 2018, was the 1st runner-up for Miss Can Tho City Tourism, and was in the Top 30 for Miss Vietnam 2018; Miss Nguyen Vu Ha Giang, who was the 2nd runner-up for Miss Can Tho City 2016; and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc (MSc), the Deputy Head of the Admission and Communication Office.
In the Semi-final Round contestants were instructed to practice various skills, including catwalk techniques, stage posing, lookbook photography, communication skills, situation handling, skincare, and oral health care. They were also required to demonstrate eloquence in both Vietnamese and English. On the night of the Semi-final Round, 33 contestants showcased their South Vietnamese pajamas (áo bà ba) and evening gowns. From this group, the Organizing Committee selected 25 contestants to advance to the Final Round.
The Final Round will take place from April 15 to May 15 and will include the Talented Beauty, Sports Beauty, Portrait Photography, DNC Fashion Show on April 24th, and a Company Tour. In addition to these events, contestants will also participate in various social activities, such as supporting a free medical examination and medicine program at Nam Can Tho University Hospital, visiting and giving gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers and individuals and families in difficult circumstances in Ninh Kieu, Binh Thuy, and Phong Dien Districts. They will also take part in Red Sunday, Voluntary Blood Donation, and a debating contest in both Vietnamese and English.
The Final Night and Award Ceremony will be held on the evening of May 15 at Nam Can Tho University.
