More than 1,000 students participated in the traditional arts competition of Nam Can Tho University

(NSMT) - On October 18, Mr. Nguyen Nhat Truong (MSc), the Director of the Student Support and Business Cooperation Center and Secretary of the Youth Union of Nam Can Tho University, stated that he had recently organized the final round and awarded the DNC Student Traditional Arts Competition, 10th Competition for the 2023 – 2024 school year. This competition was held to celebrate the 11th anniversary of the founding of Nam Can Tho University (January 25, 2013 - January 25, 2024), the 2023 - 2024 school year, and the major holidays of the country.

There were 42 performances with more than 1,000 participating students from the university's faculties. After the qualifying round, there were 29 performances from the Faculties of Economics, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Medicine, Pharmacy, Mechanical Engineering, Law, Information Technology, Architecture, Construction and Environment, and the Department of English Language were selected for the final round and awarded prizes. The final round and awarding of prizes to participating units were in the categories of solo, duet, trio, choir, choir and dance, and main dance, with topics such as “Continuing Writing the Northwest Epic”, “Glory to the Vietnamese People”, “Good Land”, “Weaving History”, “Vietnam Shines”, “Vietnam New Day”, “Pictures of Rivers and Mountains”, “Footprints Moving Forward into the New Era”, “The Land and People of Vietnam are Reborn”.

Not only that, the competition's stage was also invested in and decorated magnificently and elaborately, contributing significantly to the success of each performance

The Competition aims to praise our homeland and country, while also contributing to educating students on patriotic traditions, the pride of the Vietnamese people, and noble ideals in the work of protecting and building the country towards industrialization and modernization. With the desire to create a healthy environment for students to have the opportunity to meet, exchange, and compete with their talents, the Competition contributes to promoting the growing cultural and artistic movement of Nam Can Tho University. The Competition is not only a place for students to meet and interact with each other, but also a place for them to demonstrate their talents in addition to studying.

This year's competition attracted a large number of students to participate, not only in terms of quantity, but also in terms of enthusiasm and passion. With many unique and elaborately choreographed performances, it brought many interesting surprises to viewers. Furthermore, the competition's stage was also invested in and decorated magnificently and elaborately, contributing significantly to the success of each performance.

Coming to the competition, each performance had a different color, but the audience gave deep appreciation for art with attractive and flexible dances, songs, and music, that the mark bore on the Vietnamese people. Furthermore, dance performances also attracted a large audience of teachers and students. The selected performances were highly artistic, good messages conveyed and profound meanings about life, and the tradition praised the homeland, the country, and the people of Vietnam.

At the end of the Competition, the first prize for the whole group went to the Faculty of Economics, the second prize to the Faculty of Medicine, and the third prize to the Faculty of Law.
