NAM CAN THO UNIVERSITY NEEDS TO DEVELOP BOTH THE QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF TRAINING IN PARALLEL

On the afternoon of August 10, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, visited and worked with the leadership of Nam Can Tho University. The delegation was received by Dr. Lawyer Nguyen Tien Dung, Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Nguyen Van Quang, Rector of the University; Prof. Dr. Vo Tong Xuan, Rector Emeritus; and other leaders of Nam Can Tho University.

At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Van Quang, Rector of Nam Can Tho University, gave a brief report on the achievements that the University had made in the process of more than 10 years of construction and development. As a pioneering private university, it had made a very significant contribution to the education and training of Can Tho in particular and the Mekong Delta in general.

At the same time, the University has also set out the direction and key tasks of the action plan for the coming time. On this occasion, Nam Can Tho University also proposed to the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee and the Delegation to support and assist in solving some difficulties for the University's activities.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, the Secretary of the City Party Committee, acknowledged and praised the efforts of the University Council, the Rectorate Board, teachers, officials, and staff who have achieved much in the over 10 years since its establishment and development.

The activities have always followed the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; the organizational apparatus has been constantly consolidated and strengthened; the contingent of managers and lecturers has grown both in quantity and in quality; enrollment work has always fulfilled the registration target, and the number of students enrolled has tended to increase.

In particular, in recent years, Nam Can Tho University has accompanied and contributed greatly to charity activities in Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta provinces.

The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee hoped that, in the coming time, the accompaniment will continue, and the University needs to pay more attention to developing the training scale, ensuring that the quantity and quality of training would go hand in hand.

In addition to investing in the fields such as education, healthcare, and construction, the Secretary also suggested that the University Council join in investing in industrial park infrastructure and support the city in creating jobs for citizens in the Mekong Delta.
