DNC Celebrates the Opening of New Multi-sport Complex

Nam Can Tho University (DNC) is delighted to welcome students, staff, and visitors to its new Multi-sport Complex, which officially opened on July 7, 2023. The complex is a state-of-the-art facility that offers a variety of sports and fitness options for the DNC community.

The complex is part of the University’s vision to provide a high-quality physical education (PE) environment, foster a culture of physical activity for health and well-being, and enhance the beauty and sustainability of the campus. The complex covers an area of over 6000m2 and features four courts for basketball, tennis, badminton, and pickleball. The courts are equipped with the latest technology to ensure optimal performance and safety. The complex also has exercise equipment, a spacious landscape with many trees, and a harmonious design that blends with the architecture of DNC.

The opening ceremony was attended by:

  • Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Chairman of the Board of Council and Nam Can Tho University Medical Center.
  • Prof. Dr. Vo Tong Xuan - Honorary Rector of the University
  • Dr. Nguyen Van Quang - Secretary of the Party Committee and  the Rector of the University.
  • Deans of Departments, faculties, staff, and students were also present.

The Multi-sport Complex is a valuable addition to the existing facilities of DNC, which include lecture halls, classrooms, laboratories, and practice areas with a total area of over 30 hectares. These facilities enable students to pursue academic excellence, scientific inquiry, and mentorship from experienced professors and lecturers. The University also organizes various competitions, cultural and artistic programs for students to participate in sports and recreational activities.

The purpose of the Multi-sport Complex is to serve the training needs and enhance the PE facilities to accommodate the growing number of students at the University. It also aims to encourage and facilitate staff, lecturers, employees and students of the University to practice sports to improve their health, foster a spirit of solidarity and enthusiasm for work. Furthermore, it can serve the sports needs of customers and businesses in the community.
