Collaboration of Vinpearl joint stock company and the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management to support students for internship and job introduction

On May 15, 2023, Nam Can Tho University (DNC) hosted a working session with Vinpearl Joint Stock Company (JSC), a prominent tourism company in Vietnam that operates a network of hotels, resorts, amusement parks, golf courses, and safari parks. The purpose of the session was to explore Vinpearl JSC’s support initiatives for DNC students and graduates who are interested in pursuing a career in the tourism industry.

This session involved DNC heads from various departments, such as the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, which offers bachelor and master programs in tourism management, hotel management, and culinary arts; the Admission and Communication Office, which is responsible for promoting the university’s image and attracting prospective students; and the Student Support and Business Cooperation Center, which provides career guidance and connects students with employers.

At the meeting, Vinpearl JSC presented its internship program for tourism students. The company explained its need for interns and its support policies, which included providing air tickets and ground transportation tickets for interns to travel to and from their internship locations; arranging accommodation for interns at the company’s facilities; providing a company uniform and a monthly salary for interns during their internship period; and granting a certificate of completion of the internship to recognize their achievements. The company also stated that it would create employment opportunities for interns after graduation based on their performance and qualifications.

The representatives from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Ngoc Canh and Dr. Nguyen Hong Gam expressed their appreciation for the company’s policies and planned to coordinate with the company to send their students to intern at Vinpearl’s facilities in various fields, such as hospitality, marketing, finance, and human resources.

The two parties agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation after discussing its details. The memorandum included the following issues:

  • Organizing visits and practice sessions for DNC Tourism students according to the Faculty’s Tourism training program.
  • Training and supporting internship positions and jobs for students after graduation.
  • Building and developing training programs for tourism programs at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Nam Can Tho University.

Vinpearl JSC and Nam Can Tho University’s Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management have a cooperation program that will benefit both parties in the long run. This program aims to develop tourism human resources and keep up with global and Vietnamese tourism trends.
