Scientific conference on Pharmacology in the 4.0 Era

On November 24, the scientific conference titled "Training and Scientific Research in Pharmacy to meet the Needs of Integration and Development in the 4.0 Revolution Era" was held in Can Tho City. Dr. Nguyen Van Quang, the Rector of Nam Can Tho University (DNC), stated that the conference brought together approximately 200 delegates, including scientists, researchers, associate professors, doctors, and teachers in the field of pharmacology. Furthermore, leaders from health departments, institutes, and pharmacy universities in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta region were also in attendance.

The purpose of the conference is to facilitate the sharing of research and exchange of knowledge among individuals involved in the pharmaceutical sector, with the goal of promoting sustainable development within the sector. The conference aims to provide a platform for young scientists, experts, businesses, lecturers, and students to exchange ideas and learn from one another in the areas of research, study, and application of chemical and pharmaceutical products. This will help to form a community of researchers focused on the application of pharmaceutical products within the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution.

The conference featured 21 scientific reports, including 10 typical presentations that provided essential knowledge and information for training in pharmaceutical research in the new stage. One of these reports was presented by Associate Professor Dr. Ha Minh Hien from the Institute of Drug Quality Control Ho Chi Minh City, titled "Standardization and Quality Inspection of traditional drugs, medicinal materials, and herbal drugs in Vietnam." Another report, presented by Associate Professor Dr. Vu Manh Hung, Dean of the DNC Pharmacy Faculty, focused on "Treatment of COVID-19 with drugs applying new technology."

Associate Professor Dr. Vu Manh Hung, Dean of the DNC Pharmacy Faculty, stated that the conference featured scientific reports and opinions on various topics, including pharmacology, developing pharmaceutical human resources in conjunction with scientific research at universities during the 4.0 revolution, standardization and quality assurance of natural drugs and medicinal herbs in Vietnam, the current state, opportunities, and challenges of the pharmaceutical sector, traditional pharmacology and natural compound chemistry in both the global and Vietnamese contexts, new research trends in pharmaceutical preparation and chemistry, and updated solutions related to drug use in treatment.

Overall, the conference provided valuable information for those in the pharmacy field during this new period.
