1thegioi.vn: International conference about tourism development cooperation in the new era

On April 4th, an international scientific conference titled "Expanding Forms of Association to Develop Sustainable Tourism Adapting to Climate Change, Industrial Revolution 4.0, and Artificial Intelligence” was held in Can Tho City, Vietnam.

Dr. Nguyen Van Quang, Rector of Nam Can Tho University (DNC), stated, "We organized the international scientific conference on tourism with the purpose of sharing knowledge, exchanging experiences, proposing ideas, and suggesting solutions to expand cooperation and develop sustainable tourism. This includes adapting to the climate change, industrial revolution 4.0, and artificial intelligence. Additionally, the conference serves as a platform for connecting and sharing information among scientists, experts, managers, businesses, and individuals conducting research and teaching about tourism within Vietnam and abroad."

There were over 200 guests in attendance at the conference, including leaders from universities, colleges, and international businesses from Laos, the Philippines, Germany, and America. Representatives from various travel and tourism companies, hotels, restaurants, and resorts in Can Tho City, the Mekong Delta, Ho Chi Minh City, and other localities were also present. The rapporteurs consisted of prominent researchers, scientists, and experts from institutes, universities, educational institutions, companies, and business involved in

training and conducting business in the travel, hotel, restaurant, and resorts.

The conference focused on a range of topics, such as tourism development cooperation in Vietnam and Champasak, Laos, as well as the potential for collaboration with provinces in Vietnam. Furthermore, the role of Can Tho City in promoting tourism development in the Mekong Delta region was emphasized, along with the effects of climate change on resort tourism in the city. The conference also provided insights into developing accommodation services in the outskirts of Can Tho City for rural tourism in the Mekong Delta region.

Associate Professor Dr. Dao Ngoc Canh, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, stated, "The workshop presented delegates with the strengths and weaknesses of the international, Vietnamese, and Mekong Delta tourism industries, as well as specific tourism businesses. This will provide opportunities for tourism businesses to collaborate with both Vietnamese and international partners in the 4.0 era and the impacts of climate change."
