Partners with Vinpearl and Van Phat Companies to Boost Tourism Education

Various organizations’ representatives gathered to sign a partnership agreement.

On June 12, 2023, Nam Can Tho University (DNC) signed cooperation agreements with Vinpearl Joint Stock Company and Van Phat Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company, two leading enterprises in the tourism, restaurant, and hotel sectors. The agreements aim to enhance the quality of human resources in these fields, create more opportunities for students and contribute to the development of the tourism industry in the country, especially in the Mekong Delta region.

Signing Ceremony

The signing ceremony took place at DNC, with the presence of:

  • Dr. Nguyen Van Quang - Rector of DNC.
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Ngoc Canh - Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
  • Dr. Nguyen Hong Gam - Assoc. Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
  • Mrs. Luu Linh - Head of the Labor Relations Department of Vinpearl.
  • Mr. Hoang Tuan Lang - Executive Director of Van Phat Hotel.
  • Staff and faculties of DNC and representatives from the two companies.

The ceremony began with a speech by Dr. Nguyen Van Quang, who welcomed the guests and expressed his appreciation for the cooperation between DNC and the two companies. He emphasized the importance of tourism education in meeting the growing demand for skilled workers in the tourism industry, especially in the context of the post-pandemic recovery. He also highlighted the benefits of cooperation for both parties, such as:

  • Providing internship opportunities for students at Vinpearl and Van Phat hotels and resorts.
  • Recruiting graduates from DNC who have practical skills and experience.
  • Collaborating to develop training programs that match the needs of the market.
  • Organizing seminars and workshops to share knowledge and experience with students and lecturers.

Next, Mrs. Luu Linh and Mr. Hoang Tuan Lang delivered their remarks, expressing their gratitude for the partnership with DNC and their commitment to supporting the university in training high-quality human resources for tourism, restaurants, and hotel fields. They also shared their expectations for future cooperation, such as:

  • Enhancing the exchange of information and feedback between the DNC and the two companies
  • Offering scholarships and incentives for outstanding students and lecturers
  • Participating in joint research projects and publications
  • Promoting the image and reputation of the DNC and the two companies

Finally, Dr. Nguyen Van Quang represented DNC to sign a cooperation agreement with Vinpearl Joint Stock Company and a cooperation agreement with Van Phat Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company. The signing ceremony concluded with a photo session and a reception for the guests.

Implications

The signing of cooperation agreements between DNC and Vinpearl Joint Stock Company and Van Phat Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company marked a new step in the cooperative relationship between school and enterprise, creating conditions for students to practice in a professional environment and job opportunities after graduation, contributing to developing high-quality human resources to serve tourism industry in Mekong Delta region and nationwide.
