Vietnam is a place where there are many canals, ponds, rivers and streams stretching across the country. Therefore, our country is very concerned about everyone's swimming problem, especially the drowning situation of children, pupils and students. Realizing that benefit and importance, at the Nam Can Tho University, swimming is also one of the compulsory subjects for students at the university to equip them with the necessary basic skills can save themselves and others in an emergency, fully equipped and confident to operate in water areas.

The university always puts the quality of teaching and scientific research on top. Therefore, the university has invested in building a swimming pool to better serve the training needs of students, and at the same time it is also an effective tool to develop physical education, improve health and comprehensiveness. for students.

However, like the current situation of universities and colleges across the country, during the regular physical education class, students' interest, needs and attitude to practice are not really positive. Some students learn to swim is coping, so the main purpose of developing swimming skills in students is difficult to achieve. On the other hand, teaching swimming still faces many difficulties because the number of students in a group is too much (60 students / 1 group), the area of the lake and the training equipment is limited in terms of quantity and practice time. The main course is small (3 hours/week), so the impact of exercises related to students' swimming ability is very low, not enough time for students to be able to swim within 10 training sessions, nor has it improved the quality of health for weak and water-afraid students. From the above fact, the desire of the physical education faculty is to find reasonable solutions to overcome the shortcomings and help the current students of the university to swim in a short period of time.
