Student Support and Business Cooperation Center

I. INTRODUCTION

The Student Support and Business Cooperation Center at Nam Can Tho University was established according to decision number 56/QD-CTHDQT-DHNCT on October 28, 2015, by the Chairman of the University Council - Nam Can Tho University.

II. FUNCTIONS AND TASKS

1. Functions

The Student Support and Business Cooperation Center at Nam Can Tho University has the function of advising the University Council and the Rectorate on the organization and management of activities related to the connection and cooperation between the university and businesses inside and outside the country. It proposes and implements employment consultancy activities, student support activities, and career skill enhancement activities to assist in career development and strengthen the coordination between the university and labor-using units to support employment, practice, and internship opportunities for students. At the same time, it mobilizes resources such as scholarships and equipment to support learning from companies, businesses, and organizations.

2. Tasks

Firstly, to support students in learning, practicing, and developing skills:

- Collaborate with university departments and external organizations to organize specialized seminars, skill training, learning methods, academic competitions, and exchanges between businesses and students.

- Collaborate with businesses and functional units to organize job fairs to create opportunities for students to meet and exchange with labor-using units, helping to supplement knowledge and skills required for work after graduation.

- Collaborate with university departments to connect with production facilities and labor recruitment companies to assist students in finding suitable employment opportunities. Organize the construction of an employment and internship information system, with the ability to meet labor supply and demand, to advise and introduce employment and internship opportunities for students.

Secondly, working on business collaboration relationships:

- Regularly maintain contact with businesses to maintain and develop a cooperative relationship between the university and businesses. At the same time, collaborate to implement short-term and long-term advanced courses and specializations according to the needs of businesses.

- Receive feedback from businesses to improve training programs to meet practical needs and recruitment demands of businesses.

- Mobilize resources such as scholarships and equipment to support learning from companies, businesses, and organizations.

IV. ACTIVITIES

The Student Support and Business Cooperation Center of Nam Can Tho University has achieved several results in its activities since 2015. Firstly, more than 95% of students have stable jobs after graduation. This is due to the annual "Job Fair" event organized in collaboration with Can Tho Center for Employment Services and the Youth Center for Employment Services of Can Tho, which creates opportunities for students to find jobs, equips them with necessary skills and career guidance, and establishes sustainable relationships between the university, businesses, and the media to improve the quality of training. The Job Fair is implemented extensively in each faculty and department of the university.

Secondly, Nam Can Tho University has established partnerships and collaborations with over 100 companies and organizations in training, research, and student entrepreneurship projects. These include Tata International Group, ISUZU Group, Phillip Group, Vietinbank, HDBank, BIDV, Viettel, Mobiphone, DHG Pharma, Hau Giang Radio - Television Station, CNI Beauty Company, Tay Do Cement, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, Central Hospital of Can Tho City, Military Hospital 121, O Mon General Hospital, Vi Thuy General Hospital, Misa, FPT, Can Tho Center for Employment Services, the Youth Center for Employment Services of Can Tho, My Khanh Tourist Village, Vietnam-Australia Forestry and Construction Joint Stock Company, Hoang Kim Electro-Mechanical Company, Thien Phuoc Company, and Manh Trung Company. The university has also linked with more than 500 companies both inside and outside the country to support employment for students.

Thirdly, the Center has cooperated with various organizations, businesses, and units affiliated with Nam Can Tho University, including the Can Tho Youth Union, Vietnam Student Association in Can Tho City, International Youth Federation, Vietnam Women's Union, the Vietnamese Student Association in the Netherlands, Can Tho City Union of Friendship Organizations, Can Tho University Student Support and Development Center, Can Tho Center for Employment Services, the Youth Center for Employment Services of Can Tho, Google Vietnam, and Trung Nguyen Group,… to develop training plans on life skills and social practices that are closely related to the lives of students, such as sales skills, communication skills, email and CV writing skills, self-defense skills, and more.

IV. DEVELOPMENT ORIENTATION

In the coming time, we will continue to strengthen the construction of the center into a reputable institution, a strategic partner of prestigious organizations and domestic and foreign businesses, with many meaningful and practical programs that bridge the gap between businesses, universities, and students.
