At the workshop, participants had the opportunity to attend eight presentations delivered by a diverse group of scientists and experts from various institutes, universities, educational institutions, and companies specializing in modern technology. The presentations covered a wide range of topics, including the importance of collaboration in training for the semiconductor IC major, cooperation in the field of electric-electronic and semiconductor engineering training, the establishment of laboratories to support the training of electric-electronic engineers and semiconductor technology at DNC, and the partnership between Synopsys and DNC in training human resources for semiconductor technology.
According to experts, there is currently a shortage of high-quality human resources in the field of engineering and technology, particularly in the areas of semiconductor and electric-electronics technology in Vietnam. According to statistics from the Vietnam Microchip Community, there are currently only about 5,500 chip design engineers in the entire country. To meet the goal of having 50,000 semiconductor IC engineers by 2030 as outlined in the "Developing Human Resources in the Semiconductor Industry to 2030, with a Vision to 2045" project, universities must increase the scale of their training programs in the coming years and also foster stronger partnerships between universities and businesses.
The purpose of this workshop is to facilitate the exchange and sharing of experiences and resources related to training, facilities, and practices. It also aims to promote collaboration in training and research between universities and businesses to develop high-quality human resources and support the growth of Vietnam's semiconductor and electric-electronics industries. Additionally, the workshop provides a platform for experts and researchers to discuss and exchange ideas on semiconductor and electric-electronic technology, with the goal of offering practical solutions for industrial development, particularly in Vietnam.
