Nam Can Tho University organized the topping-out ceremony for Nam Can Tho General Hospital

On the morning of June 30th, 2020, Nam Can Tho University organized the topping-out ceremony for Nam Can Tho General Hospital at the construction work located in parallel road bodering national highway 1A, Area 5, Block 6 residential area, belonging to Nam Can Tho Urban Area, Hung Thanh Ward, Cai Rang District, Can Tho City. Attending the ceremony were leaders of Can Tho City Department of Health, representatives of news agencies; University leaders, lecturers, staffs and students.

Nam Can Tho General Hospital building is invested with 300 beds. It has 01 basement and 10 floors with total floor area of ​​28,500m2, total investment of more than 800 billion. After 15 months of construction, Nam Can Tho General Hospital has basically completed the rough construction and taking steps to interior and exterior finishes. The hospital is expected to be inaugurated and put in use by May 2021.

In order to prepare qualified and professional human resources to work at Nam Can Tho General Hospital, Nam Can Tho University has invited foreign medical professors and doctors to work, such as Pro. Doctor Phillip Tran - Des Moines University of Medicine (an American cardiologist); signed training contracts with major hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and sent the University doctors' team to study and improve their professional skills at these hospitals. Nam Can Tho General Hospital will be a modern, reputable, qualified and dedicated health care facility in Can Tho city and the Mekong Delta region.

when finishing the building will be a modern, international standard hospital, meeting people needs for medical examination and health care, contributing to reducing the number of inter- hospital patient transfer to higher level hospitals, enabling patient treatment on the spot, reducing costs and travel time for patients, contributing to reducing medical expenses, social expenses, enabling people to recieve health care services, ensuring the reception and transfer of advanced technologies in medical examination and treatment. At the same time, it is the place for students from health programs of Nam Can Tho University to study and practise.

Nam Can Tho University (DNC) is now one of the top choices for parents and students in the Mekong Delta region. This is evidenced by the number of attending students at the University, namely more than 12,000 students and this number is increasing year by year. Besides, the University have trained more than 3,000 graduated students, over 90% of them having jobs, providing human resources for Can Tho city and the Mekong Delta.
